We are Made, not Mined.™

Our founder, Vincent Kim, was originally a third generation traditional jewelry wholesaler. He recognized that the jewelry industry had historically caused environmental damage, involved human rights issues, and funded immoral regimes. He felt it was his responsibility to make a change, especially considering that his children and grandchildren would inherit the planet.

Vincent King said, "As I prepare to pass on this devastated and plundered planet to my children, I know things must change. Now is the time for change."

He firmly believes that we no longer need to mine gemstones on a large scale or use giant vacuum cleaners to suck resources from the ocean floor. His belief in "being the world changer you want to see" led him to leave his family's traditional jewelry business to pursue a more active career path!

In 2018, Vincent Kim founded Mardaza, a company that aspires to never use mined gemstones again. Instead, they employ eco-friendly principles, cultivating lab gems using techniques such as Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT), and using recycled metals whenever possible. His goal is to reshape the narrative of the jewelry industry and promote greener, more ethical methods of jewelry making.

For years, the dark truths of the traditional diamond mining industry have been kept secret, hidden behind the sparkle of these precious gems.

At Mardaza, we are creating a new legend - one of transparency, ethics and environmental responsibility.

Our designs use only ethical, conflict-free lab-grown gemstones, reducing water and energy use, minimizing land and mineral disturbance, and reducing carbon emissions. Being on the right side of jewelry history is our mission.
